Description
For sale is your choice of an authentic, WWII 1943 production .50 cal BMG round. These rounds were produced In the Frankford Arsenal in 1943. This was a preproduction test round, with steel casings for use with ball ammo. Having determined that the steel casings would not work, these rounds were transformed into training, or drill rounds. Their is no primer cavity, and each case is drilled with 3 holes so it can never be fired. There are 2 different grading option available:
Grade "A" rounds have steel casings that show very little oxidation/ tarnish wear to the casing, the copper bullet is bright and shiny.
Grade "B" rounds have steel casings that show
oxidation/ tarnish wear to the casing, the copper bullet is dull and dirty.
These rounds are in great collectors grade shape for being over 77 years old.
You'll be hard pressed to find rounds in this condition anywhere else.
Please see photos for condition, last 2 photos show condition of "B" grade rounds
